Lessons in a Lunch Box® is an oral health literacy program designed for 2nd and 3rd grades. The goals of this program include providing support for the oral health education efforts of dental health professionals and other stakeholders; and empowering children and families with the proper knowledge about routine dental hygiene maintenance, good dietary choices and more using a “dentally designed” lunch box.

Learning Objectives:

  • Discover the steps necessary to register and present the program to 2nd and 3rd grades children
  • Learn how to engage volunteers across dental professions, health care and throughout the civic community to help present the program
  • Understand how to work with elementary school administrators and teachers to help promote oral health education in the classroom
