David Avenetti, DDS, MSD, MPH, is an associate professor and head of the department of pediatric dentistry at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC), College of Dentistry. Dr. Avenetti is actively involved in clinical and didactic teaching at UIC and UI Health, administration, research, and service; he provides direct patient care in extramural private practice and intramurally in UIC’s Outpatient Care Center. His research and grant activities include oral health promotion and reducing oral health disparities and outcomes of general anesthesia for oral rehabilitation with the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR); leadership and professional development in pediatric dentistry with Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA); and resident MS research projects.
