Dr. Linda Niessen, DMD, MPH, MPP, is the founding dean of the College of Dental Medicine and vice provost for oral health affairs for Kansas City University (KCU) in Joplin, MO. Dr. Niessen is a diplomate of the American Board of Dental Public Health and the American Board of Special Care Dentistry. Her academic career includes serving as an assistant professor and eventually becoming a tenured professor. She started her career in the U.S. Public Health Service, working with the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma in Talihina, OK. She is a past chair of the ADA's Council on Dental Education and Licensure.
