Paul J. Desjardins, DMD, PhD, is a dentist and clinical pharmacologist with 40 years of leadership experience in academia, the pharmaceutical industry and on nonprofit boards. He is a professor at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine and at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Desjardins is considered one of the world's experts in acute pain model development in humans. He led the development and refinement of the post-bunionectomy, dental impaction and acute low back pain models that have been used in over 300 clinical trials in 55 different drug development programs.
